How do people get to know each other? What is the role of family in different societies? What does education look like in different societies? How do people maintain a healthy lifestyle around the world? Where will I use French? With whom will I speak? How do different cultures express beauty?

 

Students begin the study of French language and Francophone cultures. Skills developed include understanding spoken French, speaking French to communicate about daily life, writing in French (letters, short narratives), reading in French (notes, letters, and short stories), understanding, and interpreting Francophone cultural phenomena. Students practice oral exercises to enhance and internalize pronunciation and correct speech patterns.
