Wellness and Health

To meet the state graduation health and wellness requirements, students must earn .5 credits in health and one credit in wellness. Both the health and wellness curriculums follow NH State Health Guidelines. The content and topics approved by the Souhegan School Board are relevant to the growth and development of adolescents. Students in grade 9 will earn .5 credit in wellness. In grade 10, students will earn .5 credit in health and .5 credit in wellness.

What practices and choices can I make to increase happiness? How does one promote and empower the mind, body, and heart? What is mindfulness?

Wellness 9 Souhegan Adventure

What is an effective team member? How does risk taking and physical challenge lead to personal growth? What is leadership? How is it shared?

Health 10

.5 credit semester

Grade 10 Required Course

How do we promote health? How do we heal? What are our resources for health needs?

Wellness 10 Focus on Fitness

.5 credit semester

Grade 10 Required Course

What role does physical fitness play in one’s overall wellbeing? How does regular exercise affect the quality of your life?
